Strassbourg all inclusive for 90€!!! WHAM!
That was the idea from Europahaus Dresden!
So one fine day in December Ulli-Tschatz
Even the Apfelkorn Schnaps which Viktor, the leader of the tour, tried to infuse everybody at 9 o'clock couldn't help....but at least it was over after some hours....the smell, but not Viktor...
Finally after 8 hours of driving we arrived in Strassbourg....
Dinner was in the cafeteria in Stassbourg...following a trip to the old city centre to find a bar....the beer is really expensive there...After that Viktor, the tour leader offered an icebreaker-game to get to know each other with the help of plenty of alcohol...It's a great pitty we missed the main game...

The next day there offered kind of heavy programme: breakfast, guided tour through the city at 9, boat tour around at 11, lunch at 12.30 and the back to the city to a special part... OUFF!
After that we had enough walking around with 40 people so we decided to climb the minster tower, drink mulled wine and do powershopping at the christmas markets....we even spent 30 minutes in the famous La Fayette Store....waiting in front of the toilets...
But I have to say it again: the old city of Strassbourg is grandios, it's picturesque....so many timbered houses, really old. Fantastic, I was thrilled...completely.

This part of the city is like an island, because they built some channels there and so you can have a wonderful boat trip.

we had the very best weather - look at the pictures - but it was f****** cold, fortunately the boat had a heating system. So one could see the old houses and the minster from a different perpective, also parts of the European Parliament, which is situated in Strassbourg...
Finally after 8 hours of driving we arrived in Strassbourg....
The first obstacle - not getting the 12 bed room in the youth hostel -we had no earplugs with us- was overcome fast! couples were accomodated in shared room for 6 people....like the wind Ulli and me declared to the surprise of all that we're a couple and there it was: the 6-bed-room

And some pictures of Strassbourg:
Inside the minster: little dog....touch it and you'll will be happy ever after!

Beatiful tree :)

Then last but not least we felt hunger for a typical food from the Alsace - the region around Strassbourg. We decided..Sauerkraut is very typical there! Delicious!
The waiters and waitresses were not so nice, but so I think it was their fault not to bill the dessert - lemon tart and creme brulee!!!
After that we went back to the hostel...the last bus in Strassbourg is at half past 12...unthinkable and inconvenient when you're used to have public transport througout the whole night...
Back in the hostel, there was still a nice little party going on... The next morning retur journey to Dresden started...including a stop in Nürnberg to visit the famous Chriskindles Market! After 2 days in a permanent christkindel-market-visiting-state this was tooooooo much! Looking for the first Starbucks on the way it was ours!
And now, some parting words: Also and particulary the French have yummy yummy WURST and cheese - what a difference makes this little bit of mould!
